12 volt Furrion tv blowing fuse in power cord

Our Furrion tv stopped working and wasn't getting power from the 12volt plug to the tv. We took the RV in for general maintenance and asked the service techs to check it out. They plugged in an AC/DC power adapter and connected it to the TV and said it worked fine. Told us the 12volt cord was bad. Got a new power cord and the fast blow in-line fuse in the power supply cord blew. Checked the old cord and the fuse was also blown.
The power antenna booster went off for a few minutes after the power cord in-line fuse blew, then the green light came back on. The rear tv works fine when the booster is on. The front tv is the one with the cord that keeps blowing the in-line fuse.
We are puzzled and afraid that there is a problem with the TV instead of the electrical system. We haven't tried the AC/DC adapter since we don't have one...yet
Anyone had this happen before? What could the problem be?

Typically, if an inline fuse is blowing then the device it's powering is drawing more than the rated fuse. I doubt it's an electrical problem with your 12v supply and a quick voltage check should verify that. The TV probably worked with the AC adapter because there is no inline fuse in that power cord and the AC adapter was enough amps to run the TV. I would suspect there is some problem with the TV that is causing it to draw more than it should and more than the fuse rating.

If the manual or info sticker on the tv doesn’t give the amperage rating then google it and determine if the supply is adequate. Assuming I weeded through the symptoms.
