12 Volt Plug

I wired a 12 volt plug into the bedroom to run the tv but it comes on then shuts off. It will work in the trucks cig lighter socket. I just spiced into a light wire so Im thinking not enough power. Can you run to power legs into it to boost the power?

Probably need to run larger wires to the outlet.

That sounds like a big pain getting them from the panel to the bedroom

What style of TV is it? LED tv's run at an amazingly low wattage.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but you did say you spliced into a 12V lighting circuit to run a TV? I'm going under the assumption that the tv is 110V here.

Ok...is the DVD part of the TV? Also, did you splice in and butt connect or use a t tap? Double check the connections as sometimes the wires are loose or slide halfway out before crimping.

Ah, just making sure. I knew such an animal existed, just haven't run across one in an RV yet. As suggested, it's very possible that the wire isn't heavy enough to allow sufficient current to flow while the DVD is running also.

I'm afraid that the others may be right. Might be too far to send sufficient wattage. I have a 24" led @ 35 watts and the blue ray @ 25 watts. Difference is I wired in a 400 watt inverter and run them on 110v. 14 ga wire- max calculated amps is 7.

I found a 12v extension cable and plugged it into the charging center and it works fine. The wire on this is pretty small not sure on the wire connecting the charging center plug. Maybe I have a bad receptacle
