12 volt TV conversion

Just bought a new TV DVD combo for trailer. When it was delivered I found out it uses a separate power transformer rated at 12 volts. I thought I read in the past of people hooking these up straight to 12 volt power. Does anyone have experience with this.

Yes, it is a piece of cake, just cut the wire to the TV (after the transformer) and wire a 12 volt cigarette plug and you are done. Make sure the positive lead is in the center.

I have an Insignia TV recommended here on the forum and did the conversion. I also purchased a spare cord with the wall wort so I can use the TV both ways.
