Angry 2010 Rockwood 2304S ultra lite plug issue

We just bought this used unit and none of the plugs work in the unit. The overhead lights work though. We're very green about rv's and how things work. I looked at the fuse box and the switches seemed to all be on. We have 2 batteries but I had it plugged into the home outlet. Any ideas why they don't work? We did check on the 1 plug with the safety device and it seemed fine. Help! thanks all!

Are you still plugged in at home and no outlet power or our you out on the road and no longer plugged into a home outlet?

Batteries only power the lights, fridge (on gas or on 12v if a three way fridge), furnace and pump. they are all 12v.

The 120 (house outlets) only work if plugged into a shore power outlet (like you did at home). The trailer has a CONverter (120 to 12v) not an INverter (12v to 120v) most likely.

We're plugged in at home. We haven't even taken our 1st trip yet! We may have to call the selling dealer and have them check it out if we cant get it fixed. thanks for the info!

If the power is good from your outlet at home (is it a 15amp with a 30amp adapter?).. Check the breakers which cover the 120 side. Also check for gfi outlets, they are the ones like in your bathroom with the push to test and reset buttons. One might be tripped and they are often tied to all or some of the outlets.

Shame on any dealer that let you off the lot without testing everything and going through it with you so you had a good understanding of how everything worked. Lesson #1 in rv'ing is that many dealers leave much to be desired in the service / support areas.

Anyhow - quick check to verify you have "shore power" (110V) - is your microwave clock on?

If yes, you have power from the house and the issue is with the circuit for the outlets. If no, its an issue with your panel, your cord, or the supply from the house.

Also, plugging into a GFI outlet at the house can sometimes causes issues and the ground fault for the receptacle in the house may have tripped.

Im pretty sure its a 30amp adaptor we have attached to the power plug and an extension cord. The only GFI outlet is the one by the kitchen. The others don't have that reset button. I will check the main power for the house and see if maybe that plug was tripped! Thanks again

Should be GFI in bathroom that needs to be reset.

The bathroom plug doesn't have a gfi outlet on it which we think is odd being in the bathroom.

Yes, using the adapter can cause you to draw more than the house can take. Especially if you try to run an ac off of it.

Flip your breakers

You can't always tell if a breaker is tripped by looking. I've had breakers trip and stay almost in the same position. Flip them off and back on. You'll feel it if the breaker is tripped, and reset it at the same time.
