Do you have a smart phone to video the event. It may help them see you're not crazy

Your power at the campground may have low voltage.

Using a meter, measure the voltage without the AC running and watch the meter as it tries to start.

Any voltage below 110 will cause hard starting and below 104 will damage your air conditioner.

What do you mean when you say you "press on thermostat it starts"?

I just press against the theromastat not the buttons just the left side top or bottom and the compressor will start of course the fan has to be on(started).
And it works great during the day only acts up at night usually starts around 11:30 pm and starts working properly around 9:00am I know it sounds crazy.i have video to prove it but can't email it or post it is to big.

They replaced the thermostat and it still does it.

Are the coils icing up? If you keep the AC on a very low setting, the coils can ice up and cause the compressor to over heat and shut down.

Tidbit from Dometic Operations Manual ----

"The compressor will cycle on and off as cooling is required to maintain the selected temperature level. The fan runs when the compressor is off to help temperature uniform throughout the RV"

Here is a link - See page 12

They said they replaced it but I don't know I may go get one myself and change it.the coils are not freezing up and I keep it on 74 and we are in the shade.but it works great during the day just at night is when it goes crazy.
