2015 columbus 320rs satellite cabling issue.

Everything went super on the first shakedown trip on the new columbus with exception to i can't get a sat signal to pass thru the cabling.

This I know so far.

Satellite dish hookup outside in the compartment has a short black cable coming out the back and then into the "in" of the splitter.
On the the two "outs" of the splitter is one grey and one black coax and they disappear into the floor.

Living room coax behind the satellite dish hookup plate is orange.

Bedroom coax behind the satellite dish hookup plate is also orange.

Any thoughts?

Btw the dish tailgater does work bypassing everything and hooking straight to the receiver.

If you can take a 50' cable hooked to outside and bring the other end in to wall plugs and check for continuity on center and outer.......maybe bad ends on cables.

Ok I guess the issue is a bad connection from where the grey and the black cable switch to orange.
Neither cable has continuity from bedroom to out side hookup.

Odd that both cables got missed.

Ok I've got the dish to work in the living room but I had to use the aux/ sat connection plug in the living room and it's labeled "cable TV hookup" at the outside connection.

Seeing if that also works in the bedroom.

Stay tuned.

Sounds like cables are crossed at outside ......aux/ sat is what you use.....should be direct hook-up from outside to the inside aux/sat wall plate

Well as I figured the bedroom tv was a no go, assuming that the cable coax didn't run up there.

I'll let the dealer figure it from here after we are done for the season.

If anyone has had a similar issue please let me know.

Does bedroom coax plate have 2 connectors? If only one, it's park cable only. I ran A LOT of coax in this one to make all work with out lay'n cables all over ground.

Saw somewhere on here that the one on right is for roof mount deal...your must have a splitter in sat. cable.... liv'n/bedroom area. HD/Lowes have correct sat. splitters, but as you said...dealer can fix it. (difference between warranty or not!)

I won't be home for a couple of hours to test the system.
I called the very knowledgeable staff at www.Cheyennecampingcenter.com

I they told me about a "jumper that needs to happen for the satellite signal to pass thru the system.

Like I said I won't be home for a few hours to test it to be sure.

i went thru the same thing with my rockwood minilite....got talking to a dealers elec. tech...he told me if the little windup antenna boost button was active [pushed in] it would block the outside sat. cable signal. but i had already fixed my sat. ant. perm to the roof [drilled the roof for cable to sat. receiver inside]...anyway i did go check the windup ant. boost and sure nuff it was on [but it was too late to see if it would have solved the outside hookup prob.

Sat dish connection

Dish units do not like most splitters. Receivers send DC to power Dish Actuator and LNB to get the unit to work. Trace it out and make sure it is direct. Many of the Main room RV TV connections I have seen have Sat in that comes from the outside to that main TV. Then the Sat cable in that area feeds a direct cable to the bedroom TV. The receiver coax output can go to that to feed the bedroom with the program you are tuned to on that receiver. So it is basically a feed from main TZV area to bedroom to pass whatever signal you feed it. It may not be a connection to the outside Sat Jack. Just FYI from many RV's I have had in the past, it may have changed now?
Don't like your tape job at the connector either. Get a good compression fitting installed at local cable or Sat dealer. If you are ever near Port Charlotte FL I will fix you up.

Here is what I was told to do.

Btw as originally thought there is no splitters in they way they told me to use system.

Hook sat cable to aux port on outside of camper.
Then use aux port @ living room tv to receiver hdmi to tv.

"That works"

For the bedroom tv I need to run a short jumper cable from aux to the port marked "dish"

The white is my jumper

Now I should have a signal in my bedroom "and I do" but it's so weak I loose signal.

Reason?
50' of cable from tailgater to camper.
25' of cable from camper inlet to aux port at living room tv.
25' jumper " I did not have a short piece"
Cable to go from aux port to "dish" port that goes to bedroom.
30' of cable to bedroom tv from dish port @ living room tv to bedroom tv
15' foot of cable "again shortest I had" from dish port in bedroom to receiver.

That's 145' of cable and I'm sure I'm running low on voltage to the tailgater which is why I'm getting signal loss.

I can eliminate 40 foot but will it be enough?
I'm calling columbus service this morning to find out what the other "dish satellite port" is on the outside of my camper which is the one that has the splitter.

And yes label is upside down on the wall plate because I can hardly reach it let alone see it, and I reinstalled it upside.
It's right side up now ok oc .

Stay tuned.

Turbs, the coax they used in my Rockwood for Cable TV is only RG 59 and lossy at that, low signal level. I also found a screw in the cable that didn't help. I never get cable and ran 2 sat dish feeds, one to each TV for 2 receivers. The OTA antenna feeds both as well. I disconnected the Cable Feed at the wall plate and used a F51 connector to mate both the Cable TV in and the Sat feed to the bedroom.
