21 FBRS Dometic refrig temp control question

Our camper is 2013 and we have not had any problems with Dometic refrig - not in the recall list - it has the DM in front of the number 2652...

We are getting ready to go on trip and turned on the refrig 2 days ago. Ran fine, was cold. Then yesterday, I noticed the white temp control rod or tube was out so I pushed it into the white holder. Added some stuff to the refrig. This morning I go to finish loading and the refrig was warm. I noticed the 'check' light was on. Turned the refrig off and on and now it is fine and cooling.

Sounds like you are running on propane. Don't see any correlation between touching / moving the temp sensor but maybe somehow it short cycled it and that caused the problem. Did you do anything that might have disrupted the propane flow in the camper?

we were plugged into shore power and had the switch to auto - yes, I think that DH maybe filled the propane...could that cause it? Thanks much!

It could. The check light should only come on when you are running on propane and the unit fails to light three times in a row. That should never happen on shore power. I have the same refrigerator (I think...just from memory, but I've got a nearly identical trailer). My first guess would be that you lost power at the house and it switched to gas without the propane being turned on, but it would have switched right back to 110 as soon as the power came back. It's possible that either the auto button got bumped or there was a surge of some kind that switched it to gas mode. Doesn't sound like it hurt it if resetting it worked.
