A/C fan comes on with furnace?

I just picked up a new Stealth 1913 and spent a night in it this past weekend. When I turned on the heater, both it and the fan in the roof A/C unit came on.

Is this normal? I thought these were two independent systems?

Thanks!

If the fan is set on high or low and not auto the fan in the AC will come on with the furnace. Learned this a few weeks ago with mine.

I don't remember exactly how to do it but you have to change some settings on the thermostat, I only know because ours did the same thing but that was two years ago, it was one of those dah moments.
