A/C -Heat

I turned on the furnace this morning and the AC came on as well. Both temps were about 71 on the thermostat so I bumped up the AC and restarted it. Same thing. So I turned off AC breaker. Heat is fine. What am I missing?

Your thermostat needs to be on heat and auto assuming that you have a digital thermostat.

Oak nailed it. If the fan is not on "auto" you will get the result you experienced!

Need to inquire about A/C units.

We have a 2014 SilverBack 29RE by Cedar Creek. When new and for the first 2/3 years of have the 5th Wheel, the A/C worked great. But when we were in AZ this past winter the unit didn't cool very well when it got above 90 degrees. Had it looked at by local A/C business and they recharged the system. This past September we spent a week in Independence, MO. The temps and humidity were unusually high. The main A/C didn't do very well and had it not been for the A/C in the Bedroom it would have been very uncomfortable. We had a box fan and pulled cooled air out of the bedroom and blew it into the living area. I have to add the main A/C did freeze up and would shut it down for a bit and restart it thinking that would help, also made sure interior filter was clean.

What do I do? Is it time for a new A/C unit? Can the unit be looked at and maybe repaired?

Just wanting to point out this isn't a 'problem.'

It is an option given to the consumer to have the A/C fan help distribute warm air throughout the rig. Warm air rises (from the furnace) so the A/C unit can often help send it to other parts of the rig.
