A/C runs when I turn furnace on

I have a BRAND NEW Forest River 3170 (love it!) and I notice when I turn the thermostat to FURNACE, that both the furnace and the A/C come on. Is this supposed to happen?

On the thermostat, I get a selection of:

Fan
Cool
Furnace

I keep pushing the button until "furnace" lights up. When I put my hand near the A/C vents in the ceiling, I feel very little "air" come out. But when I put my hand near the A/C vent, I feel VERY STRONG lukewarm air coming out of that. I also feel warm air coming out of the furnace vents near the floor.

Now, if I push the button to turn it "off," the A/C vent stops immediately, but the furnace air out of the floor vents continues for another two minutes.

I have not attempted to run the A/C yet, as I purchased this in October.

Is this supposed to work this way? Is this something new fangled? I'm concerned about pulling too many amps if the A/C is running.

Select FAN, and then use arrows to switch to auto. It must be on either hi or low right now

I had the same issue with my grey wolf. The furnace vent should have warm air and the a/c vents are actually the fan.Turn this off by going to the fan selection and press + until the screen says Au. This is automatic and the fan will not turn when you start the furnace.

Thanks! Actually before I read your replies, I found someone else had the same problem:

Did what they said, and it worked!

Thanks!
