A/C Thermostat

I have a FR Hemisphere 282RK and am having some trouble with the A/C thermostat. I't a combination fan/AC/heat digital read unit. The fan mode works fine. The heat mode works fine. The A/C however does not cycle on and off with the thermostat, but stays on (no matter what temp I set for theA/C) until I manually turn it off. All the indicator lights work as they should showing the proper mode. Otherwise the A/C works fine -- cools great.
One other thing with the A/C is that earlier in the season, prior to A/C weather, I had to use the furnace. When the furnace kicked on, the A/C turned on also until I switched off the breaker at the panel for the A/C. Again the furnace worked fine.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking first the wiring on the thermostat is goofy but haven't taken it off the wall yet. Of course taking off the cover merely shows the circuit board and is of no help.

Anyone experience similar problems and have a solution?
Thank you all in advance.

Select fan mode and set to AUTO. Not HI or LO. Use +/- key to select speed.

Additionally; The AC will run on high fan till within about 4 degrees of setting and then revert to low fan speed.

Thank you for the info.
Setting the fan to "auto" -- will this take care of the A/C (or A/C fan) coming on at the same time the furnace is turned on?

Just wanted to circle back to you all, I set the fan to auto and it works like it should.
So a hearty thank you.
