Smile Ac idea?

Ok, so now I have my new VCross 275VRL. It has the 50 amp service and is wired for a second AC which would be up in the bedroom, but just is a vent now.

I been thinking, painfull as it is, about what to do about this. I have a Honda 2000 and would like to avoid getting another for 30 amp service and still have some cooling especially at night.

So, can I put a smallish AC UNIT like the Heng 9k btu unit

(- Heng's Air Conditioners - Price: $529.65 - Factory RV Surplus - 1611 W Bristol St, Elkhart, IN 46514 (800) 325-1461 (574) 262-3327)

Up in that front spot (unducted) and cool the bedroom on hot nights when dry docked ?

Previously, I had a 13,500 unit on a TT and the Honda would not consistent start it up, and so I'm hoping that a smaller unit would be enough to startup consistently and cool enough to make sleeping comfortably.. Can't imagine why this would not work, but I am hoping for some good opinions for and/or against.

The 275vrl is a pretty compact unit and the front bedroom pretty small and closable from the rest of the unit. I can see this being pretty useful on trips when we are stopped for the night, it is hot, and we just want to sleep. Fuel up and start the Honda, crank up the bedroom AC, and nite nite..

Comments appreciated.

You'd have to put the Honda under your neighbor's trailer so it didn't keep you awake.

Be nice to see starting and running amps of that a/c "9000"
If I had to guess it really isn't much different than a 13.5 or 15 k
Which puts you in the same boat.

Search my user name "f1100turbo"

At truck stops and Walmarts it don't matter much. I usually keep it locked up in the truck bed

You need to find out if your "2000" gen. is capable of starting the A/C due to inrush current as well as the running current. The Honda 2000 can deliver 1600W continuous so if you are running much else at the same time, you may not have much continuous capacity left in the gen. It looks like (from google) you need a 3,000W inverter gen. to run a 13,500 A/C unit. I couldn't see tech. data on the Heng unit. Maybe try sending a message to Heng and/or Honda?
