AC Issue

I have a 2013 Rockwood Mini Light 2502S Trailer that I bought used last December. We are now having good enough weather to run the AC but something is not right. The AC runs great when set to either ON or AUTO on the low setting. But when I put the AC on High it keeps going into this cycle where it starts for a few seconds and turns off, then it starts for a few seconds and turns off. It keeps doing this for at least a few minutes before I turn it off or put it back to low where it runs fine. What would be causing this issue?

The controller\thermostat is a Coleman Mach and the sticker I see from inside the RV says it is a Mach 3 Plus AC, model number 48253C966

Thanks

Sounds like the thermostat is short cycling. Is there a vent blowing on the thermostat? That will create the scenario you describe.

Are all the controls on the ceiling? (No wall thermostat?) Appears the control unit is malfunctioning. Typically under $100 but you need your owner's manual to track down parts.

The controls are on the wall away from the AC unit. I have a new digital thermostat I will install, but the AC works fine on low but NOT on high.

That's what made me ask if there was a vent blowing toward the t-stat. It may blow hard enough on high to affect the temp, but not on low. We've seen that happen before on here.

One could get the model number of the stat and go here to search instructions. Some of the stats are re-settable.

Can you tell if the compressor is stopping? or just the fan? Could easily be a bad connection somewhere... if is all electronic control that may mean component replacement.
