AC issues
I believe I am having issues with(hopefully) the thermostat or the AC control board I have a 13,500 BTU Ducted AC. I set cool temp to 68. System will cool to 68, and shut off. Problem I am having is system will cycle back on when temp is well above 68. I have to turn unit off, then drop temp, turn on fan then back to cool for AC compressor to turn on again. Do you guys think it is the thermostat or the control board?

Most stats have a 3* swing controlled by the anticipator Your unit if left in the cool mode should start without you having to do any thing. I think I would replace the stat and see what happens, less expensive then replacing a control board. If you are a DIY sort of camper.

possibly the time delay on the board is acting up. Only way to tell for sure is to check voltages when it is not coming on. Either the thermostat is open or the output of the board is open when the stat is closed.

I would not trust the thermometer in the unit 100%. Get a 'set on the table' type thermometer and see what the temp really is. I'd get two, and set at each end of camper......... then you can know what it's cooling and not cooling.

AC issues
Do you have a mechanical thermostat or a digital type. It most likely is a thermostat issue, but the way you have explained your procedure for getting it to start properly, it could be a start capacitor on the compressor.

Possible to adjust the Dometic digital thermostat to a narrower temp swing. Check your manual or google for instructions. Believe you can switch from 3 degree to 1 degree.

I emailed Dometic and they actually responded pretty quick. They stated it sounds like the control board. Yay, another trip to the shop.

Yes, I have extended warranty until 8/17. I would change it myself, but don't want to void the warranty.

Yea, I usually like to work on my own equipment, but if it has warranty, off to the shop it goes. I cheated and changed the switch on my water heater, by the way which started working out of the blue, then stopped working again. Darn gremlins!
