AC Question

I have a 2018 Columbus 366RLC. I'm new to having 2 AC units and have a question. When we run just one AC I've notice that both the bedroom and living areas cool about the same regardless which unit is on. I've also noticed that air feeds back through the intakes of the unit that is not on. Is this normal? I would rather cool just one space at a time.

My first thought: Do you have "ducted" air where there are vents in the ceiling for the cooled air to come out? IF so, when running either A/C unit the A/C unit would blow air throughout all the ducted vents instead of just the room the A/C unit is in. As far as "air feeds back through the intakes of the unit that is not on." I cannot imagine how air could be "feeding back" through an A/C unit that is not running.

Yes it is a ducted system but I thought they would be separate or at least baffled. As for feeding back through the return, it has me baffled.
