AC Roof Leak 8289 WS

We found a roof leak out with the RV the past 4 days. Drips from the front of the AC grill, intake side. This only happened when we had rain. Took out the arid filter grill. Found the foam gasket was not compressed in the centre. The wood was warped somewhat.


A added blocking at both the left side and smaller at the right side, The pressure of the gasket holds the blocks in place.


This compressed the gasket enough to provide a good seal. No water leaking with a hose pointed at the front of the unit.

Tightened the front bolts that where loose, I also ty-wrapped the cables up out of the way for the freeze sensor, AC supply and the control to the thermostat.

Looks like the weld didn't hold on the aluminum framework. If in fact it is cracked, could this have caused enough flex to help create a leak? Hard to tell in the photo if it has failed.

The weld is solid, just sloppy work. They drop the frame in this spot for cable chase to the roof. I can figure out why, one of my questions in Goshen to the techs.
