Add on speaker for bedroom TV

My rig has a smaller Furion TV in the bedroom which is nice except the audio sucks. It's tinny and hard to understand. I tried changing the audio settings on the TV setup menu and nothing really changes.

Has anyone added on external speakers to their TV and if so, what type/make/model?

I would think you could add a sound bar found at most big stores. I have one at home and it makes the sound amazing.

I did this. Mounted two speakers in ceiling above headboard.

X2 DW doesn't like the sound from the TV so I got a Bluetooth transmitter and a Bluetooth sound bar and put it behind the sofa. no wiring except to plug in the power for the speaker. Just make sure you get a transmitter and not a receiver for the TV.

Bought a Vizio sound bar from Walmart for around $50. No installation required. Plugged it into wall outlet and connected wire from sound bar to headphone connection on TV. Sound is great.

I searched a bit and found that Furrion actually makes a soundbar for the TV, it's only around $60 so I might go that route. Although, I like what you guys did with the speakers mounted under the cabinet. That would work good over the head of the bed as there's an overhead cabinet there. Maybe extend a headphone jack down my side of the bed so I can use earspuds without bother the wife!

You may want to check the soundbar, some residential units I've seen have an earphone out jack so you can plug into that, and it kills the sound output of the soundbar. for private listening.

If the Furrion sound on the tv sucks, what makes you think the sound bar made by the same company will sound better? I would go with a better brand, Vizio , LG, Samsung. Even if it's a few more bucks, in the end you might be happier.
