AM Radio reception terrible

Had to listen to the game in the truck because the rv radio sucks. Even went up top and unscrewed and took apart and cleaned then removed the radio and slid in the antenna cable several times,To no avail. What is the best antenna as a replacement. ..

The little antenna on my 8289 is amplified and does not work on AM at all. I would suggest interference from the LED lights to investor to fans and your
computer's wreak havoc with AM. Getting the antenna on the roof is best solution. A simple antenna rod type works best on AM.

Rod type installed on the roof which is 12 feet in the air, no led, no computers
