Antenna Power Booster

I have a 2012 3010 DS. I tore my Winegard Antenna off (which I only used once but it worked) so I bought a new one that was almost the same but it had a UHF antenna as well. Problem is there was a power boost switch in the box. I don't have a boost switch in my motor home. An old post stated the antenna is powered by the switch box. I have installed the antenna properly (not the power booster) but it won't receive a signal. All others camping near by get many channels using their antennas. Is it possible my switch box doesn't power the antenna and I'll have to install the power booster??
