Any way to adjust fridge and freezer temp. separately?

Just got back from a 3 day camping trip. The fridge temp. was perfect at 40 degrees but the freezer stayed at 10 degrees, which should be at 0. Is there any way to adjust the freezer temp. without making the fridge too cold?

Your typical RV absorption fridge freezer temp should be aprox. 30 degress less than the fridge section. I would say yours is operating properly.

No, you can not adjust the fridge temp and freezer temp seperately.

Your typical residential fridge freezer is normally around 0 degrees.

10 or 0, either will work fine. Ours hardly ever makes it to zero, usually between 5 and 15. I just looked at the high low temps, reset a couple of days ago, and it has ranged from 6-14. Even 15 keeps our stuff frozen just fine.

The only things I had in the freezer for this trip was a bag of ice and ice cream. The ice was fine but the ice cream was very soft. I guess I will just have to get used to eating my ice cream that way Thanks for the info, everyone.

Zinger.....the thermostat slide types are pretty ineffective. Set it to the coldest spot. These temps you have are within range. I myself have a D-cell Camco fan in the refrigerator AND freezer compartments. It helps to circulate the air. My temps pretty much stay at 4 and 32. Once in a blue moon I'll see a mild piece of ice in a liquid in the fridge,,,,but it hasn't been a problem. Being as I was in the refrigeration business, residential AND commercial, for 40 years, I've tried several things,,,,,what I've done is the best with what these babies will do. I highly recommend the fans. The D cells last about a month and then you have to replace them. Booddocking said it right about not being able to separately control or modify the two temps.

Cyndi.....anywhere in the fridge does a good job of circulating the air and keeping hot and cold spots mixed to a good temp for anywhere in the fridge. One thing,,,,make sure you defrost those coils every once in a while. When the coils are solid ice, you've let it go too far and that'll affect the cooling process. You also need to defrost the freezer at the same time. A hair dryer does a good fast job.

Being that we're camping here in Missouri, ours recently defrosted on its' own and we had water in the bottom bins. Is this normal. My wife thinks there's an auto mode for this, but I doubt it. Other than that, the frig and freezer seems fine.
