My wife still has her input when we park it, but the camera shows me what is back there and how close it is. My 06 F150 is pretty high and on more than one occasion I have seen kids/people in it I could not see in the mirrors.
Bottom line... YES get it. If for no other reason than safety. But I think you will use it often. Good luck with whatever you decide, Happy camping.
I agree! A great safety addition and I think you will use it often.

Buy a good set of walkie-talkies and you will be better served. IMHO. Phones work well also but we like the versatility of the radios.

DW is ten times better than a backup camera

I would not be without my rear observation camera. I can see behind the TT about 20'. IMO it works way better than mirrors when I need to pass someone. My DW usually is in one of the mirrors or in view with the camera. I would not be without one again.

I have one but I hardly ever hook it up. I have enough things to distract me when I'm driving as it is. I can't look at the front and back too. It's like everything else if you like it and want it then by all means buy it. Just my opinion

The only problem with that is sometimes we like to camp places that don't have a cell phone signal.

That's true, we were just at a campground and we had no cell phone service. I can back a camper and I just need DW to tell me how far to back up. I was a commercial driver for awhile and I never had any help on backing up, with power steering I can get get camper in a spot. But I realized a lot of people need help when backing up
