Bedroom TV Quits
Well it looks like the Jensen television in our bedroom has shot craps. I think I'll blame the rough road conditions on I-55 in Mississippi as the reason it doesn't work. The TV was working fine at the EZ Daze RV park in Southhaven, MS two nights ago. When we arrived at Lakeside RV park here in Louisiana yesterday the channel scan couldn't find any channels on the bedroom TV.
The Jensen TV in the living area still works fine so we moved the bedroom TV down to that area and hooked it up and the channel scan still didn't find any stations. I can only assume all the bouncing we encountered on I-55 somehow damaged the TV tuner.
We're leaving tomorrow to head to Gulf Shores, AL and I guess we'll look for a new TV at the local Walmart. Who knows, maybe more travel will shake it enough to fix the problem.

If the extra shake does not work may I suggest a fine tuning?

Sorry to hear about your TV. IIRC those Jensens are supposed to be built to withstand being in a camper and subject to vibrations, etc.

We arrived here in Gulf Shores yesterday and over-the-air TV still doesn't work on the bedroom TV. The park has cable TV so I changed the menu to cable and the channel scan found all the available cable channels. Since we're going to be here for a month I think I'll wait until we get back to St. Louis before I replace that TV.
When we get back home I'll probably open up the back of the TV to see if there is anything that is just loose. It might just need to have a tube replaced. If not I'll give the thing to Goodwill.

I remember when something electronic went on the fritz you could take the tubes to Walgreens. They had a tube tester and you could buy tubes there too.

I did that at some TV repair places as a kid and then at a Radio Shack that I lived near.

The price of new flat panels, especially when on sale, is so cheap that it's not worth repairing them anymore.

I would take it to the repairman and have them give an estimate before replacing might be something simple and cheap, also have an idea how much it is to replace so you can make a good choice. Good luck

Oh oh, it may be about time for that fine tuning Ford Idaho suggested. Now when I turn on the TV it displays "no signal" for two minutes before it finally displays the cable channel its tuned to. I guess this TV is on its last leg.

My bedroom TV does that when the bedroom light or adjacent bathroom light is on. It seems the LED light fixture throws out RF interference that kills the signal going to the TV. When I turn the light off, the signal comes back. There seems to be a fix that changes out the fixture with one that does not throw off interference.

Might be worth calling ASA (handles all of Jensen/Voyager) technical service team at 877-845-8750.

My 2014 Windjammer had the same problem. Rockwood replaced all of my LED light fixtures last year under warranty, and the problem was eliminated. But, IIRC, it was only on over-the-air signals that it happened...wasn't affected when we were on cable.

Your showing your age. I used to go to Walgreens with my dad and test a whole box of tubes, ahhhhh those were the days.

Bad news and Good news.
Well I finally got around to checking out the Jensen TV in the bedroom and it’s official, the ATSC tuner isn’t working. Bummer considering that TV was supposed to be made for travel and it only lasted two seasons.
The good news is the TV is bad and I don’t have to go looking for a bad signal splitter, loose connection, booster problem or other issue with the over-the-air TV system.

We went out tonight and bought a replacement for the 19 inch Jensen TV. We found a 22 inch Samsung 1080p that has the same dimensions as the 19 inch and it weighs half what the Jensen did. Hopefully this one will last a bit longer.

I think if it was up to my wife we’d get rid of the Jensen in the living area too. She hates the Jensen remote control. With the batteries being in the top of the remote it’s not balanced in the hand and I have to agree it doesn’t fit comfortably. Also the numeric pad, with 4 numbers across, is dumb.
