Broken antenna

Very windy this weekend camping on the shores on lake Ontario. Not sure if the wind is to blame but had a hard time bringing the antenna down. I had to play with it for 30 minutes, it just would noT settle down on the roof properly then one arm just stayed up. Went up on the roof and that arm was sheared right off he base! No wonder it wouldnt go down. Tied it down for travel but now looking for a new antenna. Not sure if it can be repaired? Can high (probably as high - constant , not wind gust, but steady, relentless winds) as 65mph/hre + winds) do that kind of damage? Any recommendation for a new antenna? Might as well get the best hdtv antenna upgrade I can now

Yikes- I guess that answers my question about what would happen if I forgot to lower mine before driving away. Closest I ever got was to the dump station and realized it was still up.

I did a comparison of a few antennas as few weeks ago. Hopefully that helps with your decision on a new antenna.
Comparing TV antennas- my results

The one thing I will say about the Jack- being smaller I would think it should be able to handle a larger wind load.

I saw a guy pulling into the dragstrip the other weekend with his antenna up. I'm thinking it was about a 2 hour drive for him. Maybe some people just get lucky.
