Cable TV Connection @ Campground

I was recently at a campground that offered 40 cable channels, three of the 40 were HD channels.

Question:
My HD channels picture was awesome but the remaining cable channels were snowy...where's my problem (camper cable wire/campground cable source/etc)?

I triple checked my connections between the camp pedestal and camper but nothing improved.

I'd guess the CG had a problem or their supplier. Can you temp connect at home to check?

Did you remember to turn off the "power boost" ? If its on you will get snowy picture. Also check the connection behind the wall plate. If its loose you may get the same problem.

Also make sure your TV is set to "cable" and scan for channels.

I am assuming the HD and regular channels all come in on the same cable. If they do then the problem is not with your trailer, it is somewhere in the CG or as has been mentioned above a service provider problem.

This is highly dependent on the campground. MANY do not subscribe to cable HD due to the added cost. They may provide only the analog channel lineup (lower 100 channels mostly).

At many campgrounds with cable (close to major cities) you will see the cable hooked up (for extended basic programming like TNT or CNN) and the antenna up (for switching to local network programming in HD like CBS, NBC, or ABC).

Switching between reception modes is as simple as pushing the power button on the antenna switcher and a re-scan of the channels.
