Cable tv help

Hi! We are going back to a campground that we love that has cable tv. I have a 2006 Salem 22fbs and for the life of me, can’t figure out how to hook the cable up to it other than bringing it in through a window or door. There is a jack inside but I don’t know where the outside connection is. Any ideas?

The one inside hooks up to your roof antenna,,,,and should have a jack outside. Is this a Travel trailer? Dont want to say its NOT cable ready. If you don't have an outside labeled jack,, It might not be.

Not sure about your model but most of the older travel trailers and RVs were not wired for cable.

This is true for some of the older entry level trailers, like Salem.
The outside cable connection may have been an option.

If you do have a jack outside, connect to that and then turn the power off on the antenna booster that feeds the inside TV. It's usually a very small round button and the light on the boosters panel will turn off.

I've seen posted by many people that had tried to run the cable with the booster powered and it won't work. Turning it off evidently makes a difference.

If you don't have an outside jack, your going to have to feed in through a window or slide-out seal and directly to the TV.

Most rg6 cables are round but there is a flat cable that is especially made for running under windows. That’s the easiest fix

I would search every nook and cranny including the ceiling of storage compartments primarily on the left hand side of the unit before surrendering to no coax connector for cable input.

I suppose there are some older rigs that were not equipped with an outside port for cable TV but even our 1979 Shasta entry level TT had an outside port for CATV. Everything we've owned since then has had as well.

You could easily add one if it turns out there is none.
