Camco "Little Red Firepit" question

I have an older model of the Camco "Little Red Fire pit" and ever since being new, the flame never has been very big... It came with a propane regulator and separate gas control valve as shown in picture 1. No matter how much the gas control valve is opened, the flame is never very big... Several in our group have a newer version of the same fire pit, however theirs came with a propane regulator with built in gas control valve as shown in picture 2 and they get a much better flame than I do.. Thinking it might be something else, I attached one of their hoses to my fire pit and my flame was much larger.. Here is the problem.. where can I get the new regulator / hose setup. I have attempted to contact Camco several times with no reply and CW sales people have no idea where to turn except to buy a new fire pit. Any ideas or suggestions?

Are you telling us that Camco customer service is unresponsive to you?

I take things like that into consideration when making buying decisions.
