Can't play i tunes via computer to ZX700

I plug red/white rca plugs from earphone jack on laptop into panel via MP3/TV label. Unit tells me to select switch labeled XM/ipod as I have the XM radio wall plate. Select AU1 on ZX but get no sound. Have tried AU2 & AV options and MP3 switch on wall platea with same result. Any ideas? Thanks

do you have a 3.5 mm head phone jack on your zx ?
if so hook your computer 3.5 mm jack to the zx 3.5 mm jack
you'll then get what you desire .

Not sure about 3.5 jack, don't think so. Have small port titled " aux in" on the front of the ZX. Have not looked at my "set-up" screens, wondering if there is something there as it is currently set up to feed my TV via surround sound?

Short answer is "yes" but...

All the Concertone units including the Genisis use the video and audio inputs to play iTunes or computer video and music. You will need to purchase a composite video adapter cable to output video and audio to the camper.

Thx Lou. Can you describe what the composite vid/aud cable looks like and does this plug into my wall plate or to that "aux in" on the front of the ZX?

Apple - iPad 2 - Share what

Hope this link works. Google apple composite cable if it does not.
They do make a component cable but I don't know if there is a component input on the Genesis.

Thx for checking. Have not gone back to it. Maybe this weekend. Am sure I can use Lou's method via hooking directly to TV via vid. cable, but I do want to explore "set-up" screen to see if I have set audio options in some way that is causing me problems. Seem like I should be able to use method of using the RCA jacks from lap-top ear phone jack to plug into wall plate. Do you have any recomendations?

The earphone jack to Twin Stereo RCA input on the wall plate, works just fine. This guy is what you are looking for in that case. Watch your volume.

Lou, I have similar cables and this was my initial attempt. Get no audio, thus my thought that my problem may be in the "set up" screen?

My money is not on the setup screen, but the "switchology" on the wall plate and the input source on your Concertone.

It could also be that the wires to the wall plate are not connected behind the Concertone (installation error).
