Check your stoves before using!

We went camping with our Grey Wolf 21RR for the first time last month. We turned on the stove and within 30 seconds there was a fair amount of smoke coming from the stove top and the smoke alarm was going off. We shut the burner off and tried to find what was burning. Thinking it might of been some packaging material perhaps. I pulled the cover off the stove to find a small plastic cup next to the burner. Thinking it had the nuts/bolts in it when it was being installed? See pictures below. Once we removed the cup the stove worked fine. Be sure to check under the covers before using though.

Should have been prevented with a thorough walk through/PDI, in which everything that was supposed to work was demonstrated that it would work. Stove, oven, water heater, AC, microwave, television, and everything else that moves, wiggles, runs on electric, gas, battery, or any other means. All doors and windows, awnings, faucets, showers, toilets, steps, drawers, cabinet doors, you name it, if it supposed to move, make sure it does. If it has an "on" button, turn it on. If it has an "off" button, turn it off. Seems there are a lot of dealers charging for "prep", and then not doing anything but delivering campers to customers as they arrived from the factory. They aren't always ready to go when the dealer gets them. (part time RV tech)
