Clearance lamp clarification

I have a 2005 Wildcat and was attempting to replace the incandescent bulbs under the clearance lenses with LEDs. The LEDs I bought to replace the 194 bulbs (which I've been told is the proper bulb for the Wildcat) are 27mm long and the similar bulbs 194, 168, 921, 158, w5w, etc. are all very close to 27mm (1.05"). The problem I have is that the incandescent bulbs I am trying to replace are only 24mm (.9") long. When I put the LEDs into the base socket the lenses will not seat properly because the longer LEDs (1/8") prevent the lense from reaching the latching point. I don't know what incandescent bulbs I have because there is no printing on the bulb and I cannot find a 12v wedge bulb on the internet that is 23mm long. Has any one else had this problem and if so, what was their solution?

I've got 2 sets of these on order. Such a stupid low price I figured I'd have nothing to lose if there weren't really 'super bright'.

If these are 27mm long I wouldn't be able to use them. My 194(?) bulbs are only 23mm long which provide adequate clearance to the lenses. Any 27mm length bulbs do not provide adequate clearance to the lenses.

I certainly did measure the total height of the original incandescent bulb (~24mm) and stayed away from any where the description had them larger than that. The ones I ordered look like the LED is a T3 (10mm) package and if so, should work.

I found some that would definitely be really short but were a lot more expensive (I have 13 of them to do), however I'll try that if the ones I ordered are too dim. Since these are only on in the dark and any light output is probably going to accomplish the 'side marker' function, I'm not really worried about the brightness unless they are really dim.

I found some LEDs that do meet my length requirements:

10 x Car White T10 LED 9SMD Side Wedge Light Bulb W5W 194 168 2825 501 192 158 | eBay

I'm going to give these a try.

It seems that the bulbs I have are a #24 T2-3/4 wedge base so they are smaller than the standard 194s and I'd guess everyone else with a 2005 Wildcat will have the same problem.

Thanks for your help.

I saw that in the other thread. No doubt they'll fit... you'll probably be in the running for the 'brightest marker lights on an RV' award.

I am going to temporarily close this thread until we get it merged with the other thread that the OP started on the same subject. 2 similar threads opened in different forums causes confusion.

In the mean time, you can post to the other thread here: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...tml#post987391
