concertone monitor is dead

I know this is problem that has been around for a long time. I really thought mine was an exception. Well boy was I wrong. We to turn on the monitor last night and it was dead. Tried it with 110 plug and still dead. My question is I know I can get a LCD TV and it will work as a stand a lone. But, my question is can I just hook up the audio & video cables to the concertone system and use the DVD player like a normal dvd player? I really don't see why it wouldn't work. I would have to change the input on the TV from cable/air to another input. I really don't want to put the same monitor back in.

If the Concertcrap is dead, then the amp that provides the power to the speakers is not going to work, either. Is your model the ZX 600, or the ZX 500? The reason I ask is because the 600 model like mine will work with the 22" Venturer H.D. TV as a totally separate unit. Ask me how I know??? My Concertcrap was bad the day I took my new camper home. The 5 speaker surround in the living area quit. Only the sub worked. I unplugged the TV audio out cable from the Concertcrap, and it worked with the TV speakers until I got a new Concertone. Randy

We have a 2008 Cherokee BH27 and the Concertone in our camper was a 500. It died too and we had to have it replaced with the 600 model. We were told that the 500 series was defective and that they no longer made it. We'll see if we have issues with this new one as well!
