Concertone zx75

Should I be able to listen to the TV thru the surround sound speakers on regular channels and not just DVD's.

Yes you are able to, I just did it.

Get yourself "right and left" RCA Audio cables and a face plate that either has just audio or both audio/video ports. I replaced my phone jack plate with this setup, as I won't be needing a land line in the travel trailer. The ZX75 has an Audio input in the rear of it - It is Input #2.

You can see a pic here of where it sits on the wall:

I use a cable that has a 1/8" stereo jack on either end and go from the headphone jack on the TV to the aux-in jack on the Concertone.

While we're on the subject of speakers, can anyone explain why theses manufactures put one of the "stereo" speakers at on end of the living (?) room in my case where the TV is and the other speaker at the other end of the room where the people are sitting? With this setup the only time you get the stereo effect is when you're standing at the stove.
