Problem is, the odds of getting a good unit as a replacement don't seem
very good ;-((
lol, that's exactly why I just turn off the speakers after every use. I figure if that's the only problem I have....then I'm one of the lucky ones.....lol

Yep, I have the same problem. I use the speaker off trick too! It does get me once in a while though when I forget to turn off the speakers, problem is, its usually about 3am. Its really not a user friendly quality unit.

Found the answer

Hi All,

I was told that with the unit powered off just press the XBASS button and the caption beep on appears. This toggles the alarm on and off.

True but the alarm is still going off. You just can't hear it.

Yes, the solution is here somewhere, but the answer is to remove power to the radio "completely" and then restore power.
Remove the fuse to the radio to do this.

This will disable the alarm.
Then NEVER use the alarm again.

It is a bug in the radio's programming and there is no "fix" according to the old post.

I like the idea of shooting it using a 10 Guage shotgun with 00 Buck shot!
