Crusader fridge too cold
We have a 2015 Crusader 5th wheel and fridge has no control to set temp. It only has a thermistor that clips to a fin in fridge section. Replaced part and still freezing items. Anyone have this problem or solution?
Thanks-Steve

The thermistor IS the temp control.
Your fridge manual should have instructions on how to use it.
You slide it up or down on the fin.
Should have arrows to show which direction to make it less cold.

Thanks for your reply but my metal clip is riveted to the fin. You cannot move it.

Interesting. Never heard of one being riveted to the HX fin.

I have a 2016 Crusader and have the same problem with the fridge being too cold. The thermistor in mine is hard to move. To save my fingers I use small piece of cloth to protect them. It may seem riveted in but it isn't. I have moved it several times and have not found the right setting yet. I've looked at several YouTube videos and apparently anything on the shelf where the fins are will freeze over time. I try to keep stuff I don't want to freeze off that shelf.
Just be careful you don't pull the wires out when trying to move the thermistor.

Thanks for the info. I will look closer at my clip. The wires are very short on mine. Not sure how far I could move it without adding more wire.

I HAD the same problem. The thermistor and controller were both replaced over a two year period. Tired of screwing around I cut one lead of the thermistor and put a 1500 ohm variable resistor in series with the cut lead. I then adjusted it until I had the temp I wanted. The thermistor was to spec but there is a mismatch with some controllers. My fridge now regulates at the temp I want. It really bugged me when dry camping. to hear the fridge trying to get to 32°.

I stand corrected. My clip is removable. It has a punch out to keep it in place.
Can you put a link here to an adjustable 1500 ohm part to wire in?
Thanks for all of your posts.

Fridge too cold
I got mine from my junkbox but if you go to Radio Shack or any electronics supplier and ask for a 1.5k or 2k variable resistor of no specific wattage ei., the smaller the better, you should be able to get one. If you decide to go that way contact me and I can lead you through the process. As I said, it worked for me but that's just one unit. Good luck...

My fridge thermister also seemed to have too short of wire.I removed it from the fin and put it on another fin. Also added the small inside refrigerator circulating fan.helped a lot.

sliding the thermistor down raises the temperature, sliding it up lowers the temperature

If you have a Norcold N611/811 here is an adjustable temp gauge.
