Cycles off and on
Bob,
First I would also like to thank you for your participation in this forum. Many times people with product issues like to complain on a forum such as this knowing that no one is listening. At least you are actively listening and (hopefully) taking what you hear and moving it up the ladder at Concertone in order to improve and produce a better product. My understanding, from what I've been able to gather on the web - which we all know only tells the truth , is that Concertone is one of the primary audio/video suppliers to the RV industry. Sometimes having that 'title' can make a company complacent and maybe the reason for why there are many issues/complaints regarding your products. I'm going to take the stand that by you participating in this forum, you, and Concertone, are working at improving your reputation and products from the feedback you are receiving.
Now for my complaint . We purchased our TT last year and went the entire year with no entertainment issues. However, this year we are having issues when we try to turn the unit off. By the way, we have the ZX700 (why isn't that one listed on your website??) Sometimes when I hit the power button nothing happens. It won't turn off and on occasion, none of the other buttons will work either. And other times it will turn off only to turn itself back on after a couple of minutes. And most of the time when it does that it is still locked up and I can't get any of the buttons to work, including the power button. It does seem that if I hit a combination of the number buttons on the key pad it will unlock itself, but then regardless of what we're listening to (CD, DVD, Radio) there is only static that comes from the speakers. It takes three or four minutes before the static is replaced by music, but there is still a popping sound from a couple of the speakers (usually the back speakers of the surround sound) at times. In order to turn the unit off, I have had to remove the 15 amp fuse from the trailers main fuse panel.
I have not taken the unit out of the wall yet to check connections or remove the fuse from the back of the unit to reset it, but wouldn't removing the main fuse also reset the unit? Once I get back to where the camper is stored I will be taking it out and checking connections and what-not. Hopefully that will solve my problems, but if you have any other suggestions, I would be happy to hear them. I have contacted my dealer was well as Concertone (via E-mail) to see what their suggestions are.
Thank you again for helping those of us willing to listen on this forum.

Hi Larry,
I guess one thing I'd say is to be proactive if your unit is currently under warranty because if it expires before you determine the cause, well.....
There are no secret keys or combinations so that "should" not matter.
When you reset the power (by pulling the fuse for a minute) does the unit then operate correctly unit the next time?
The other issue is to ensure you actually have 12V at the radio...

Thanks for getting back to me Bob.
I am trying to be proactive by contacting both Concertone and the dealer about the issue I am running into. My problem is that the camper is temporarily stored at the campground 300 miles away and I will not be able to get back to it until the end of the month. That will be about a week after our 1 year warranty expires. My hope is that since I have made both the stereo manufacture and the dealer aware of the problem a couple of weeks ago, that they will honor the warranty. The dealer wants me to take a picture of the unit and email it to them so that they can order another. Hopefully this has helped me cover all my bases. I guess time will tell!!

No, when I pull the fuse and then plug it back in, it does turn on correctly, and it seems to operate correctly, except for a couple of quirks. First, when I turn it back on there is no sound, other than some static, that comes from the speakers. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes that music, or whatever has been selected (radio, DVD, XM Radio), slowly becomes louder where it can be heard. It's like it has to warm up or something. Second, once I go to turn the radio off, it does one of two things. One: it locks up and none of the buttons work to turn it off, switch modes, change functions and so forth. The only buttons that function are the A,B,C speaker switches. Two: it will turn off, only to turn itself back on after a minute or two.

Bob, this actually brings up a question that I am sure has probably been addressed by your staff at Concertone and possibly others on this forum, but I haven't seen discussed regarding issues with these units. I do know that I have 12V to the radio as when we were preparing the camper for our first trip this year I had the radio on while not plugged into shore power. I didn't have any problems then. Then, when we got to the campsite and plugged into shore power, that is when I noticed the issue of it locking up and/or cycling. Maybe there is an issue with the converter and/or the proper amount of voltage (too little, too much) reaching the unit? I don't know a lot about DC current, although I am trying to learn as much as I can as RV owner.
Anyway, I again thank you for your response and when I am back at the camper in a couple of weeks (too long between camping trips if you ask me!) I plan on taking a picture of the unit and submitting it to my dealer for claim purposes as well as try to do what I can to track down issues, including voltage at the radio.

So the only way to "know" if you have 12V is to measure it with a multi-meter...
At the end of the day, if this needs to be replaced, you need to do that with the dealer. They are responsible for the warranty.

Yep, you are correct. When we head back to the camper I will be checking voltage, connections and anything else that has been brought up within these forums. In the meantime, I have contacted my dealer letting them know my issues since I am nearing the end of my warranty period. If my check of the system does not help my issue, they have asked me to remove the unit, bring it back home and they will order a replacement.
Thank you all for your input!
BTW Bob, I personally appreciate your assistance and willingness to be actively involved on these boards. That shows, in my opinion anyway, that you care about the situation and are proactively (some no doubt will say reactively) trying to make a better product. There have been many posts, most of them negative in tone, regarding Concertone. However, even though most of the posts have been negative, I've learned a lot of what to look for from comments made from others on this forum.
