Dear Forest River reps

Please ask the appliance installers to fill out the Appliance Information Sheet in a way that it can be read and used by owners. Scribbles and squiggles are really not helpful. If they could just take a moment and write neatly, it would be greatly appreciated. Here are some examples. Thanks!

(The refrigerator, DM... I already hand wrote over the numbers so they are readable)

If it helps- at least you got a sheet. Mine came with nothing of the sort.

Sheets listing serial numbers on the unit vs guessing/searching and then filling out the hodgepodge of warranty forms, that may or not be given to you by the dealer. Yea.

Noob will not know. To me it is an industry issue. If you have missed the sign up window, your fail. Do ya think they will honor the warraty? Too many players in the game and nobody holding the feet to the fire.

That concept would make more purchases.

PS. I have not had any issues with my TT and I am happy.

Yep, there's just a handful of FR reps here and I doubt that they could do much about it.

When a manufacturer provides a warranty they are not allowed by law to require you to fill out and send in one of those cards or forms. Your dated receipt or a bill of sale is all that is required. They typically put verbiage on those cards which is worded so you think if it's not sent in it somehow affects the warranty which it does not. The purpose is to get as much private information out of you as possible for their marketing purposes and to sell on the information market.

And to make it possible to notify you of safety recalls.

That's a valid point but I'll take my chances that I can find out about a recall for a product on my own as opposed to sending a bunch of personal information to someone that can do with it whatever they please. Have you ever read the fine print in the privacy policy one of those cards refers you to? In the case of an RV it's up to the RV manufacturer to notify you of a recall on any component they provided with that RV. That's why they maintain a database and unit file supposedly, with all the model and serial numbers of everything they put in the RV. That being said I'm sure it always doesn't happen that way.

My dealer said do not fill out the data cards and send them in, they said that they take care of that when you buy the unit. Never filled out one or sent one in never had a problem with the warranty. when you call the vendor all they ask for is the serial # and date of purchase. Those cards are only a marketing thing so they can sell you more stuff or try to sell you an extended warranty,
