I'm not quite sure about your question, but if I understand it, you will need:
a satellite dish
a directv receiver
There are a variety of satellite dishes on the market. Some are fully automated, some are partially automated, and others require a complete manual set up. I use a winegard carryout that requires me to point one end to north and set the elevation.
The only coordination I've done with DirecTV is on the few occasions I've needed tech support. When my receiver is idle for too long they disconnect it. I have to call them to reestablish my connection.
Hope this helps.

Do a search for Directv and one for Direct TV and you'll find several threads where your questions are answered. I've also been gathering information.

Direct TV requires a 2 year contract but Dish TV has a pay as you go "30 days at a time" deal. You might look into that before you plunk down a bunch of cash for a camper system.
You only pay for SAT TV when you actually go camping.

You can get another Direct receiver for $6 a month and get a carry out satt dish.
I am looking into this as well.

Ok thanks for the replies, I called directv and they told me I need a new receiver for $6.00 a month and suggested Wineguard for the dish, sounds good and the same as some of you mentioned, But they told me they won't ship receiver until an installation appointment is set up, I was thinking of getting a portable dish which would not be installed right?wondering if anyone has a portable and what they did to get the receiver. Thanks

WE have been using DirecTV for years. We have a second box in the house that we just put into the 5er. We have a Winegard Tailgater, automatic, just set close to level, plug in and let it find the staelite.
Hope it Helps.

Make sure that whatever dish you buy is capable of handling HD TV, if that's important to you. I was told last week at Hershey that DirecTV's portable dishes are not able to get HD, that you need to buy a more permanent style dish to get HD. I'm in the same boat--I have Direct at home and it would just be a matter of an extra $7 a month for another receiver, but the "no HD" thing was a deal killer for the DW. So we went with the Dish "pay as you go" deal, which does carry HD. Now some peeps in here have said otherwise, that Direct does get the HD, but I can't confirm that.

I had one of those permanently mounted dishes on my last motorhome. It was a pita at campgrounds. Had to park the motorhome in the "right" spot. I went with the portable in a nano second on my current travel trailer. 75 feet of cable will generally allow you to find a clear SW view without too much bother. I also use a box from home.

You do not need a separate DirecTV box unless you plan to permanently keep it in your trailer. We have a small non-DVR receiver and use it when we go on trips. I see no need to pay them another $72 a year considering how much cable costs these days.

On the taligater we get the HD channels. One thing you will not get is local channels, once you leave your zip code area.

We take a receiver out of the house and put it in the RV in the spring and it stays there until we winterize. It is normally in the kids playroom, but during the spring/summer, they are not allowed to sit and watch TV if it's pretty outside. Therefore, no need for the receiver.
We picked up a used satellite from the garbage dumpster at an apartment complex a few miles from our house and built our own tripod for it. (The tripod cost about $15).

I bought a H25 receiver from Solid Signal DIRECTV H25 High Definition MPEG-4 Receiver (H-25) from Solid Signal (not installation BS) I had a spare Slimline dish and picked up a tripod to mount it on takes 5-10 minutes to setup. I use this app on my smartphone SatFinder Lite and it shows me where I need to setup and aim my dish. You can get a slimline dish, tripod and cable from ebay here is one example http://www.ebay.com/itm/DirecTV-SL3-...item2594bcca56 you need the slimline dish for HD.
