DISH issue?

Just bought the new dish tailgater. Plugged everything in through the internal hookup. Boom no signal. Go direct dish to receiver. Boom good to go. My question is am I doing something wrong with the internal cable system or do I need to add a satellite specific plate somewhere.

If you are hooking to the outside cable connection, their are splitters in the line that will not pass satellite signals.
You are not doing anything wrong.

Most likely you are hooking up to the cable in jack on the trailer (motorhome?). That cable runs to the antenna amplifier plate and has a DC voltage blocker to prevent the amp from feeding voltage into the cable system (cable companies probably don't like it). Unfortunately your tailgater (and all satellite dishes) need that voltage to operate. You will either have to run a separate cable to the outside or that the cable off the amp.
