Question Dishwasher winterizing

Hello: Can anyone tell me how to winterize a rv dishwasher and a full size refrigerator ice maker? I am new and can not find anything to help with these. Thanks, Barbara

winterizing Dishwasher

My dishwasher is a Frigidaire Mode FFBD1821MBDA It came in our River Forest Wildwood 408 Grand Lodge in park RV. Any one that can tell us how to winterize it would be appreciated. Thanks, Barbara

Noted DW in ad, how about while charging piping with AF, run DW for brief fill, cut off then go to last pump out. That would pump AF through feed pipe and drain pipe.

You will have to pull fridge out from wall and remove Water Valve and take it home with you and re install in spring. Under no circumstances run RV Anti Freeze thru the system

Sure but.....
If ice cubers make ice, and, ice freezes and expands to a larger size at 32F. Then why do we winterize Ice cubers? Ice isn't any bigger or harder at -200 right? I just drain the tubing leading to it and leave it alone. More damage than good to open gear mech rotate shafts and and....

Sure you can drain lines but water valve located behind fridge is what freezes as you cannot empty ALL the water out of it. This water valve is mostly plastic.

Hey this is good stuff. I just called whirlpool they said "run AF through ice maker and let cycle for24 hours". They clearly do not own an RV. When the solenoid is disconnected, the water will drain out from above it? Has this worked for you?

Yes I just open lines outside, let them drain. Hold open water disp a few minutes, if fitted.

Last open and drain supply tube to main inlet port. Line will self drain, use air or rag to dry up valve inlet.

Ok so I understand, open up the supply tube going up to the ice maker? The supply valve won't freeze? I'm thinking about taking valve off and bring it home. This way the water will drain from everything. I just have an ice maker in the freezer. No cold water dispenser. I am worried about possible damage to ice maker tubing.

Agree with you, if single Sol and you have plumbing off already its only one wire and a screw to remove. My valve is over $100 so its worth protecting.
