Looks good!
I used a halogen work light strange for mine.
Just took the two halogen lamps and cross bar off
And the dish slide right on I can raise or lower stand
And the legs are adjustable for level.

Then I mounted a heavy bunjee cord at the bottom
so as to attach it to a screw in dog tie out which firmly
Hold the unit in place.

I built one from the picture and it was very steady and was unaffected by the wind. What I learned quickly was that most of our favorite camping spots had trees in the way of the needed Southerly view. I had to go ahead and use my tv ant tripod with my free directv dish to make it over the trees. Near the end of our camping seasons this year, my DW surprised me with a winegard gm1518 automatic carryout (thanks to the end of season sales).! It works great and we're setup and watching directv in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks , sounds like a great surprise. I wish there was an automatic option that did not cost over a grand. I'll try building a PVC mount tomorrow . Living in the Northwest I'll probably end up having to go with a tripod with all the trees.

Last season I messed around with a DIY pvc stand, the issues I was having was getting the dish level because of the terrain as well as just how bulky it was. So version 2.0 I used this Shop Bosch 63-in Aluminum Contractor's Tripod at Lowes.com mounted the dish on top and it was fantastic folds for storage also has built in level and can adjust to all sorts of terrain. Last season we had the pleasure of being in a tornado at the camp site tornado went over the lake and did we ever get shook around but I tell you that to say my dish stayed true to course. (lol)

Here is where I got my tripod. Can't hardly build one any cheaper.

Mikegjax I looked at those but they didn't have the level adjustment that I needed. I only looked at it online so maybe I missed the leg adjustments.

lonestar, the center tube has three bolts at the top and bottom for concentric adjustments. I ordered one with a kit so it came with a bubble level for the center tube. I really like the PVC rig, but I thought some folks might rather get a ready made unit.
