Re: Post #120, That's what I did when the first one went out. The selling/servicing dealer is 110 miles from my home and when I called them they told me to bring it up but it would be at least six (6) weeks before they could even look at it. They have a large service department and they take units in as they are received on the lot no matter if it takes a week to fix the problem or five minutes to fix the problem. I called Dometic to ask if there was another option for me. The nice lady told me of three (3) other places I could take it to but I had to inform her that they were further away then the selling dealer. She gave me the name and number for a factory authorized mobile unit but he was about 75 miles away but Dometic will not pay mileage fees. She finally said there was a "factory authorized service facility" in my town. When she told me the name of it I knew of it and I know the owner/operator. He has a metal building in his back yard that he works on RV's when he's not at his regular job. She gave me a work order number to take to him to have the work done by him. After calling him he had the replacement unit on site in two (2) days and had the unit exchanged in about 1 1/2 hours. The second unit that went out went the same way. He called one morning to tell me the replacement was in, I took him the TT immediately and he had me wait for maybe another 1 1/2 hours and it was ready. So far so good with this second unit. So maybe call Dometic and ask if there is a factory authorized person closer.

We have been camping in Mississippi for 3 weeks with temps in the mid 90's. The Penguin 2 replacement has kept us cool. Highest temp we saw was 77 for a couple of hours.

Those having trouble getting theirs replaced in a timely manor should use a mobile RV service. We were camping when our 2nd AC went out and it was replaced in 24 hours with the penguin because the Brisk Airs were out of stock.

Dometic 15k a/c failure

Same issue for me on a Dometic Mod 457915. Bedroom unit is fine so far. This is a 2012 Mirada with extremely low hours on the A/C units. The failure occurred in 90+ degree weather with similar humidity.
