Dometic A/C Electrical problem

Hello All,
Went to camp this weekend pulled in and powered up with 30 amps. After going in and turning on the breakers we were going to use I noticed that the A/C turned on with the thermostat being in the off position.
So I turned it from Cool back to off and no response. It seemed at first that the A/C was working but then it would just start humming after a little while and no air blowing??
The Fan worked on Low and High, But seemed like Auto wouldn't work to adjust it.
After double checking the 30 amp Plug and re-set the 20 amp breaker same results.
I called the dealer for any help over the phone, but no suggestions

The next day went over to the thermostat and turned the temperature up and it seemed to work and shut off when it satisfied.
Possibly just a bad thermostat ?? Just trying to stop it from happening next Hot Trip !!!

if you haven't already, ditch the analog thermo and get a digital one, like a Hunter or Honeywell.
one of the easiest and most popular mods out there. takes about 30 minutes.

If the fan runs, and all works for a while, then it continues to run, but no air coming out, usually means freeze up. It should be turned off when this happens. Wait an hour or so, and try again.

Now mine did this once, in the second year, thankfully in the driveway. I removed the inside cover, and found piece of duct tape had fallen and was restricting my air movement. This caused my freeze up. Repaired and all is well. Might want to pull the inside cover, and take a look.

Hello and thanks for the reply,
I did go out and check the inside cover, Filter was clean and nothing restricting the air flow.
I am going to plug in the camper and try it again tomorrow to see what happens??
Thanks for the suggestions !!

I know in my 2306 the thermostat on the wall is only for the heater not the A/C unit.

Maybe you had the switch to fan and not on hi or low "Cool" or there was an issue with the power - By chance did you check to see what kind of power you had at the poll - I have a device I plug into the pole before I plug my camper in to verify that the circuit isnt wired wrong or has sufficient power - just another idea
