Dometic Ac 15,000 ducted

Has anyone experienced problems with the RV Foever Warranty. We have a 2016 wildwood RV and after a 3,000 mile trip the dometic air unit just started not cooling very well. Didnt know untill we took a short trip to the lake. Checked and cleaned filters and grills but it didnt make any differnce. This was a used unit so no manufature warrany but got what they called RV Forever Warranty. The dealer said bring it in but cant realy say if its covered....

I took the first year free forever warranty then let it expire. The annual cost of a fairly cursive inspection was $300-$500 + parts. I figure if I put that in the bank, I can cover most expenses if needed. As for the AC, That is still covered by the Dometic warranty and can be repaired by any Dometic dealer. They did have some leaking issues and have extended the warranty so you should be covered there. If you do not get a favorable response from the dealer, call Dometic.

"They did have some leaking issues and have extended the warranty." Puh-lease, IF anyone knows that Dometic has indeed extended their warranty for their Dometic A/C units let me know where I can find this info. My third A/C was not cooling properly three weeks ago. The local service guy checked it out, called Dometic to tell them that the differential temps were at the low end of Dometic's specs and he suspected that this unit would quit cooling soon. Dometic stated that they would not authorize a replacement unit under warranty as the unit was meeting specs, although barely. My warranty runs out mid-January and I'm betting that they know this and are playing a time game. I would love to find out that the warranty has been extended beyond the two year time limit.

I called Dometic and was told "although your unit is less than 2 years old you are the second owner and therefore its not covered" ... lesson learned. But the RV lifetime warranty said they would cover it. Im waiting for my new unit now. If you buy a slightly used RV dont expect any manufactured warranty to follow it...
