Dometic Ac

I have 13500 ac in bedroom of 5th wheel. It cools fine but after about 30 / 45 mins or so it gets a loud sound. My wife says it sounds like maybe freezung up?
We shut it down for the day etc. Next time we run it the same thing. This is a year old unit run very little. Any ideas as to what it could be ?
Thanks
Kenny

A loud sound is not much to go on. Next time it does that pull the the trim holding the filters and look up there and see if the indoor coils are full of ice. Could the noise be the compressor shutting down.

It's entirely possible that it's freezing up. There have been a lot of units where the freeze coil either wasn't installed on the fins or had fallen off.

The freeze coil looks like a stack of quarters. It should be attached at the bottom center of the evaporator coils.

Cant see anything inside the filter area. This is the style where the ceiling has a area with vents all over.

Ok. I have a man that says he will go up and take a look this afternoon. For 100.00. Doesn't mean he can fix it.
All he does is install new ones. He said they dont fix or repair them anymore. Yes this is from a rv shop.

Not saying this is your issue. Just passing on why he says they replace them.
They really are built to be disposable. If the refrigerant is low, they are meant to be tossed. Some places will test them and refill them (if the refrigerant is low with no apparent leak), but most will want to replace.

They are not built with a fill port, like in a car or house.

My ac was looked at. Couldn't see anything wrong.
Of course it sounded just fine . He did say the fan looked as though someone had sprayed oil on shaft.
Plus two clips weren't hooked. So ill just run it until it breaks. Lol
Thanks for the ideas and help.

I wonder if those clips were the clips for the freeze coil?

Kwralph: No you cannot see much by removing the filter cover and filter. That big plastic thingy with all the louvers is the Air Distribution Box or ADB. You will have to remove the ADB to look up to see the inside of the coils. IF a coil freezes up then the fan cannot move air through the coils, then the fan will make a different noise.
