Dometic AC in 2014 Prime Time 315

I do not know if this is a problem or not but it sure seems strange.
My AC unit sometimes comes on but the compressor does not kick in. This morning I counted 6 times that the fan came on (it came on on high) ran for about 40 secs and then cut off for about 2 mins and then repeated the cycle. I finally got up after the 6th time and bumped the thermostat one degree down and the compressor came on and worked normally. The thermostat was set at 76 and a thermometer I have set above the thermostat read 75 so there was no need for anything to come on.
Later in the day as things warmed up to the 80s, everything worked normally.
Is there some reason the fan comes on and shuts off for no real reason. This has been happening since I purchased the unit in Oct 2013. The thermostat and a computer board in the AC unit have been replaced but this still happens. I am not familiar with an AC that runs the fan periodically like this but if it is normal, I guess ok.

I had what appeared to be the same issue. I moved the direction of the ceiling vent closest to the thermostat and have not had the issue since.

My first thought was that an outlet was blowing directly on the thermostat. The t-stat saw a temp that should start the A/C and as soon as it kicked on it blew air across the t-stat thereby lowering the ambient temp and causing the stat to cancel the call for cooling. So the compressor never kicked on and the blower kicked off after the time out period. Of course as soon as the blower kicked off the temp went back up a little in a couple of minutes and the viscous cycle started all over again.
