dometic fridge blowing fuses

Just bought my first RV, 1996 Fleetwood Bounder. It has a dometic fridge and it keeps blowing the 5 amp fuse. I'm in a space and plugged in to 110. It works on propane but when I replace the fuse it blows within an hour. Anybody answer without referring me to book, youtube, etc. Thanks

Glass fuse or blade type?

i had an older fridge that had a glass fuse and the the clips that held the fuse in were weak and didn't make good connection.
The fuse would get hot and actually melt the solder inside the fuse that held the wire.
Once discovered, I cleaned the clips and squeezed them tighter before reinserting the fuse and no more problems.

If blade type, sounds like something on the board is drawing too much current.

The 5 amp fuse should be for the electric element. You probably have a bad element.

If you're handy with a multimeter you can test it for internal resistance and short to ground. It should read about 44Ω internally and it should be open to ground.
