Dometic Fridge in 2012 SK2112

We're first time owners of any type of trailer/RV. The unit is brand new- we prepped the fridge the night before leaving by plugging in at the house and it seemed ok empty. Put some stuff (not too much) in and by day 2 the fridge was barely cold. The freezer was working but not keeping things frozen. I put the slide to the highest setting for cold & still not much difference. Tried switching back to propane as I understand that to work better. It was better but we're not talking better like the fridge/freezer at home. Is this normal? I was scared to eat the things with mayo for fear they went bad!

The trailer fridge won't feel as cold as house I thought the same thing. But the food will be just fine. You can buy a fridge thermometer to monitor the temps.

Turn on fridge 24 hours before leaving on trip.

Turn on fridge 24 hrs before leaving on trip. To help out, purchase a RV fridge thermometer, hang it in the freezer. When the temp reaches about 30 to 35, place your ice trays and a small plastic tub of ICE cubes in the freezer. This will assist the cool down better.
