Dometic fridge issues.

My 2013 Flagstaff had a Dometic fridge in it. Last time i used it was when i was traveling from Washington state to southern CA. During the trip, the fridge kept cutting in and out. It would run just fine on either gas or electric and then we would notice that the "check" light was on. Sometimes if i turned the fridge off and then back on, it would just turn right back on. Sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes if i just hit the switch on and off a few times it would come on. Sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes the fridge would run an hour before it shut off, sometimes it would run all night with no problems. There really didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why it was acting up. To clarify, the "check" light would come on and the fridge would shut off running on either gas or electric. When it would run, it would cool like its supposed to.

What shape is the battery in the RV in? If the battery is in good shape, I'd try turning off all power to the unit and unplugging the connections on the board, cleaning them and replugging them in. A little bit of corrosion can cause intermittent symptoms.

Agree X2 with Bama Rambler could not have said it any better. While you have the cover off the control board look for any discolored areas from over heating or corrosion from water damage. While it is covered, condensation from the cooling unit can drop on top and seep into the control board.

It does not sound like a primary voltage problem but just In case, I would also make sure all the connections are clean and tight on the back of your fuse and breaker power center. Finally make sure the 110 volt plug is firmly in the receptacle.

Good luck let us know how you make out.

The batteries are in good shape. This problem happens when the trailer is plugged in to shore power as well. Ill have to look at connections in about a week. The trailer is currently in storage and i hope to get it at the house soon.

I had an issue with the fridge running on LP last summer. The probe that detects the flame went bad. Replaced that easily and it worked fine untill this year. I sure hope i dont have to fix the fridge once a year.
