Dometic Fridge recall ???????????????

I would like to thank the Dometic Corporation for wasting 4 hrs travel time and $50 in gas for nothing.
I checked both website and called their hot line which stated my fridge was part of the recall Mod # RM 2652 ser# 54805142.
Made appointment with dealer, left it there for 2 days and picked it up after dealer said it was completed. Good thing I did not read invoice when at dealer as I would have been very upset. On way home my wife read it only to find out that the recall was not needed as mods done at factory. .............

They could have at least posted what to look for to see if it had already been done. Bummer!

I guess they were CYAing it by having the dealer confirm it had been done.

manufacturing factory, I disagree with your sweeping statement.

I do understand your chagrin at the wasted trip.
My TT was not done at the dealer where we bought it even
though it was included in the recall.
Once I found out I needed to get 'er done, I wasn't about to drive
200 miles one way back to my selling dealer.
A local RV shop did it for me in about 35 minutes and gave free
coffee while I waited.

Not all dealers are dead beats and not all American factories are
making junk........

And this thread might as well have been put with the rest of the
Dometic recall threads except for all the ??? at the end of the subject.

No disrespect intended. I will edit the last part but you would think the manuf would know their products a little better. Dealer service guy should have looked first to see if it needed mod. As for some of the scary production line mistakes on these and other manuf trailers ie concertone installations and build quality, trailer manuf defects one begins to wonder where the pride went.
PS I purchased trailer in Michigan and took it to the closest rv dealer in Ontario.
And I will purchase another Rockwood as I do believe FR builds the nicest units bugs and all.
I am afraid rv manuf will go the way of auto manuf unless they smarten up.
No one would put up with and automobile the way rv's are being shipped.
