dometic fridge with inverter and 12v source ?

since I can't get my DM model dometic fridge working on gas, would it be possible to plug in the power cord (access door on back of fridge) into a inverter connected to a 12v deep cycle battery in order to get my AC power supply ? anyone know what wattage or amps the fridge pulls ?

It is possible - The heating element draws 325 watts (just under 20 amps DC) and the circuit board draws another 1 amp.

So you will have a 21 amp draw plus the losses in the inverter. That will be over 100 amps total over a 5 hour period so battery life will be short. Last time I ran this calculation I could not rum a frig with 400 watts of solar panels.

that battery would be dead in a very short time.

To do this right you are probably looking at 800 to 1000 watts and some fair sized batteries.
