Dometic Heat Pump

I have a 2017 Forester 3011DS. On a trip to Florida last week I had something funny happen with the Dometic air conditioner. It was running and cooling then cut off for 2 or 3 seconds then come back on and run for 2 or 3 seconds then cut off. After about 5 or 6 cycles of this I decided to turn the unit off. I turned the unit back on after about 5 minutes and everything seem to be OK. Usually when you turn the system to cool the fan turns on and then the compressor kicks in. When it turns off the compressor cuts off first then the fan turns off. This time when it did something funny the fan and compressor turned off together and then turned back on together. Is this normal?
